We were entrusted with the planned maintenance of the Radnor Memorial in Bolderwood, a project that holds deep personal significance for our family business. As we began the restoration process, we revisited our archives and discovered original drawings and photographs from nearly 60 years ago, revealing that the memorial was designed by Raymond Hoare, the 5th generation Managing Director of Hoare Banks Stonemasons.

Essential maintenance was required as the memorial had gradually loosened from its foundations over the years. To bring it up to today's fixing standards, we needed to upgrade its fixing system, as the original installation dated back to the 1960s. Given its size and weight, the memorial was carefully lifted using hydraulic lifting gear. New holes were drilled, and steel ground anchors were then securely fitted into the concrete foundations and extended into the headstone before it was refixed. This process ensured the memorial’s long-term stability and safety.
