With the upcoming Centenary in 2018 approaching, Bournemouth Council requested the Bournemouth Cenotaph to be thoroughly cleaned in readiness for the anniversary. The war memorial was originally built out of Portland stone in 1921 and is guarded by two white marble lions sculpted by W. A. Hoare.
This cleaning project was undertaken using our ThemaTech super-heated water system. This is delivered as a liquid spray, even at temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius and is often used without the addition of any chemicals and boosting the performance of milder agents. As you can see the outcome is quite dramatic. Staining in stonework can be stubborn, but as you can see the outcome in this instance is quite dramatic.
